Norwalk Public Schools (NPS) is gearing up for an exciting event that promises to showcase the diversity and excellence of its elementary schools. The third annual Elementary School Showcase is set to take place on Tuesday, January 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Cranbury Elementary School, located at 10 Knowalot Lane.
A standout feature of Norwalk Public Schools is the significant presence of Carver students, constituting one in five NPS students. Notably, Carver's Grade 5 students make up 53% of all Grade 5 students in the district. Among Carver's largest groups are elementary students, with 1,546 students (70%) participating in Carver's before- and after-school After the Bell programs across all NPS elementary schools.
Families are invited to immerse themselves in NPS's rich tapestry of educational opportunities. The showcase will feature booths set up by the district's 13 elementary schools, each highlighting unique magnet programs. These programs focus on various aspects, including language, character development, college and career readiness, and visual and performing arts.
The Cranbury gymnasium will come alive with vibrant displays as representatives from each school eagerly engage with families, providing insights into the incredible opportunities awaiting students in the upcoming academic year. This interactive platform aims to foster a deeper connection between families and schools, allowing them to make informed choices that align with their children's unique needs and aspirations.
An exciting development at this year's showcase is the launch of the Elementary School Choice Lottery. Set to open on the same night, the lottery adds an element of anticipation and choice for families as they navigate the diverse educational landscape NPS offers. Families attending the showcase will have the opportunity to learn more about the lottery process and gain valuable insights into making the best choices for their children's education.
Save the date for this exceptional event that promises to be a cornerstone in the educational journey of Norwalk's young minds.
