The Carver Model
More Learning Time | Stronger STEM Skills | Future-Ready Students
The Carver equips every learner for global competitiveness.
Through strategic partnerships with schools, educators, and community leaders, Carver expands learning time and opportunity, so students gain the academic skills, STEM proficiency, and social-emotional strengths required to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Throughout Norwalk and in select schools in Bridgeport, Carver K-12 programs strengthen the foundations of student success—improving literacy and mathematics proficiency, building digital and scientific skills, offering paid internships and other workforce development opportunities, and developing the curiosity, persistence, and critical thinking that modern economies demand.
Carver’s model extends learning beyond the school day through high-quality instruction, tutoring, enrichment, and workforce preparation—delivered in partnership with schools and often led by students’ own certified teachers. By increasing effective learning time and connecting students to real-world opportunities, Carver helps close opportunity gaps and prepares young people for success in college, careers, and civic life.
The result is more than afterschool and summer programming. It is an engine for educational equity, talent development, and global readiness. Carver’s approach demonstrates how strategic partnerships, expanded learning time, and data-driven programming can create a scalable pathway to student success.
“Carver not only gave me one of my first jobs but supplied me with endless mentors, role models, an amazing support system, and exposure to things I never knew.””
