The joint effort between Carver and S.A.V.E. will create a comprehensive workforce development program to establish a robust framework for student empowerment. The Fairfield County Business Collaborative for Education Equity recently announced $347,500 in funding, supporting six nonprofits helping students from pre-K through post-high school levels. This initiative aims to ensure that students succeed academically and develop the skills essential for pursuing meaningful careers as adults.
Established in 2020 in partnership with Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, the Fairfield County Business Collaborative for Education Equity is dedicated to supporting the region's most vulnerable students. With a mission to foster an environment where every student receives the necessary assistance to thrive, the Collaborative is backed by the contributions of more than a dozen Fairfield County businesses.
With this recent round of grants, the Collaborative has reached an impressive milestone, having awarded nearly $1.15 million to programs dedicated to empowering students to pursue their dreams. Mendi Blue Paca, President and CEO of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, emphasized the focus of the new funding, stating, “This new funding focuses on supporting projects that allow opportunities for partnership and collaboration and have the potential to grow into longer-term investments in the future of Fairfield County education.”
