Norwalk Symphony Orchestra celebrating its 80th year of bringing joy to the comma it -- and to Carver kids!

Norwalk Symphony Orchestra (NSO) is entering into its 80th Anniversary season! They present wonderful Broadway, Opera, American Music, and traditional symphonic music with professional musicians.

We invite you to join in this celebration of NSO’s rich history, along with their exciting vision for the future, by watching their 80th Anniversary video — the video features Carver as an important partner in NSO’s programming for children, starting at 4:50 minutes of this 6:50 minute video.

NSO’s mission is to bring the joy of orchestral music to appreciative audiences of all ages. As a significant cultural organization in Southwestern Connecticut, NSO strives to achieve this mission through education programs like (Not) Just for Kids, geared toward the youngest children through elementary school; their new pilot program reaching underserved middle and high school students that is being implemented with the support of The Scripps Family Fund for Education and the Arts; pre-concert discussions with Maestro Jonathan Yates; and other connections within the wider community. As the live orchestra for the New England Academy of Dance (another important Carver partner), NSO expanded their performances with them from The Nutcracker last December to include Peter and the Wolf in June. NSO musicians are continuously sought out to provide music in smaller groups for numerous community events.

Here is the NSO 2019-2020 schedule for Not Just For Kids.
