In 2015, the YMCA Board of Trustees established the Bedford Family Social Responsibility Fund to give back to the community and carry forward the legacy of Ruth Bedford. The endowed Fund supports one-year grants to local programs, such as Carver. Carver has benefited from this grant program since its inception, something for which the we are deeply grateful.

Members of the Conservative Synagogue of Westport, Weston and Wilton donate pies to Carver's annual Thanksgiving food drive
Once again, members of the Conservative Synagogue of Westport, Weston and Wilton gave Carver dozens of pies to be included in our Thanksgiving Day food baskets that we are sharing with families in the community. Here are Carver children holding the donated pies that will be included with the Thanksgiving boxes filled to overflowing with complete Thanksgiving Day meals, including turkeys!
Richard Whitcomb and Mr. and Mrs. George Bauer celebrated at UB's Homecoming Weekend
On the occasion of the University of Bridgeport’s alumni Homecoming Weekend this past Saturday, Carver’s longtime volunteer leader and very generous donor Richard Whitcomb was honored. Also, the university celebrated the ribbon cutting on the major renovation of a 19th century four-story mansion made possible by George and Carol Bauer who are also important Carver donors and longtime friends. The building will be called the Bauer Hall Innovation Center.

Mike Laganza, Head Golf Professional since 2011, a member of the PGA of America and a Certified Flightscope Professional, provided encouragement and support throughout the day. Master chef, Sergio Reyes, prepared the fine dining throughout the day and evening.
Carver loses grant competition, but we're happy about who won!
Carver partners with many organizations and we celebrate their success. The Triangle Community Center was the second grant recipient of 100 Who Care Darien in the amount of $10,000. Triangle, Carver and Laurel House in Stamford each presented our cases for support, and Triangle won the vote of the members who attended the event this past Wednesday evening.
cxLoyalty employees donate back-to-school supplies to Carver kids
cxLoyalty has been supporting Carver for many years. This year, Adam Magrath, Compliance Manager of Membership Operations at cxLoyalty, initiated an appeal to his fellow employees to donate back-to-supplies for Carver kids. And the response was very generous!
Hillsong Church brings a Back to School Festival to Carver

Hillsong Church Connecticut hosted a Back to School Festival at the Carver Community Center on Saturday, August 31st for the benefit of our community’s children as they prepare to return to school. The event in the Carver gym included music, food, games, and free haircuts, back packs, and school supplies.
