Now in its second year, the Darien Rotary Scholarship was awarded to two outstanding Carver students enrolled at Norwalk Community College (NCC).

Rashida Richard received a $4,000 scholarship to attend NCC as a freshman in Fall 2019.

In Spring 2019, the Darien Rotary Club hosted a Spring Into Wellness! Fair to raise support for scholarships that enable Carver high school graduates in need to attend Norwalk Community College, helping them continue their education and improve their employment opportunities.

Last year's inaugural awardee, Senya "Gabriela" Alfonso Martinez, received a $1,000 scholarship to continue her coursework at NCC as a sophomore.

The Darien Rotary Club recently hosted awardee Rashida Richard, along with Carver Youth Development Director Erika Stanley, at a celebratory lunch at Roton Point in Rowayton. Members of the Darien Rotary congratulated Rashida on her academic success in high school and wished her well in her continuing studies at NCC.

Gabriela was unable to join due to her class schedule and warm wishes were sent her way, as well.

All of us at Carver are deeply grateful for the Darien Rotary's wonderful partnership and commitment to Carver students.
