Nikhil Bhadra of WaterSafety4Kids, Novelette Peterkin, Carver CEO atb the Carver Community Center
The Carver is grateful to the Bhadra Water Safety Foundation for a $2,400 grant that will provide 10 students from Tracey Elementary School with the opportunity to participate in water safety instruction beginning April 15, 2026.
The students are part of The Carver’s After the Bell before- and after-school program at Tracey, and this new opportunity will introduce them to foundational water safety skills in a structured, supportive environment. Through this partnership, lessons will be delivered by Goldfish Swim School in Fairfield, whose program is designed to help children build confidence in the water while learning essential swimming and safety skills. The collaboration is part of a broader shared effort to expand access to youth water safety instruction for Carver students.
Accepting the check on behalf of The Carver is Chief Executive Officer Novelette Peterkin, with the presentation made by Nikhil Bhadra of WaterSafety4Kids. We are deeply appreciative of this thoughtful investment in our students’ well-being and development. Opportunities like this do more than teach practical skills. They help young people gain confidence, try something new, and benefit from experiences that can have lasting value for their safety and growth.
We thank the Bhadra Water Safety Foundation, WaterSafety4Kids, and Goldfish Swim School for helping make this opportunity possible for Tracey students and their families.
