After you submit the form (click on APPLY TO BE A VOLUNTEER button below) indicating your interest in volunteering, we will explore specific volunteer opportunities with you and orient you to the Carver community.

Carver conducts a background (not financial) check on all individual employees and volunteers 16 years of age and older. We utilize a standard confidential national service for this process. For this step to be completed, we need your Social Security number. We will ask you for your number and then delete any record of that number once we submit it for the background check. That is why we do not ask for the number on the application form that remains (confidentially) on file at Carver.
For a volunteer group, such as a one-day corporate team-building initiative or a group of students wanting to conduct an initiative like a holiday party or recreation program, please get in touch with Nikki LaFaye at nikki@the-carver.org to discuss the details. No application forms or background checks are necessary for group initiatives.

We also appreciate volunteers who assist with fundraising, marketing, and special events.
corporate and other volunteer groups
Corporate, school, and other volunteer groups often assist with community events like food drives and holiday parties. They also arrange daylong events for our youth and undertake cleanup and renovation projects.
