Factory Underground is a local treasure well worth your attention and support
It’s still only been days, but it may as well have been a lifetime ago that our schools began distance learning and parents were suddenly thrust into a national experiment in mass home schooling. Norwalk students are lucky to have such great teachers and a school district that was well prepared for this once-in-a-lifetime crisis.
Nancy on Norwalk’s post this morning indicates that our students are achieving a near 100% attendance rate and our students are fully engaged and learning.
“I think we may look back at this and, and feel it was our finest hour,” Norwalk Superintendent of Schools Steven Adamowski said recently, of the scramble to create a distance learning program on short notice because of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.
“I was really, really impressed by the quality of what the teachers put together in the amount of time that they had to put it together,” Board of Education Chairwoman Sarah LeMieux said Tuesday.
We have been posting here about extra learning tools and places of support for our students and families. Today, we showcase a trusted service for extraordinary enrichment learning opportunities that may be helpful before and after the new virtual school day: Norwalk’s own Factory Underground.
These world class experts are teaching and coaching remotely through videoconferencing. Instead of social media, movies and video games, consider learning or honing skills in Engineering & Music Production: Vocal Lessons, Beatmaking Lessons, Guitar Lessons and Songwriting Lesson.
For many years, Factory Underground has been there for the Carver community. They have produced major Carver events, and for the year we honored Sean Combs with our Child of America award they produced (at no cost) our We Are Carver music video featuring Carver kids and Carver alumnus and Board of Directors member, Kenneth Shuler, whose stage name is FNX.
Factory Underground is a local treasure presently trying to adjust to the devastating COVID-19 crisis. Know that they have given freely to Carver kids and families for many years. They give consistently, creatively and generously.
Today, our hope is that our community will remember Factory Underground with just as much generosity as they have shown us by considering the great value of signing up for their online classes for adults and students like.
