Next Tuesday is the global GivingTuesdayNow Day!

Please save the date! In response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19, GivingTuesday is hosting #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving and unity, set to take place on May 5, 2020.

Carver will join this campaign and we ask that you help us spread the word about our important work. Further information to follow next week.

Since the beginning of this crisis, Carver is adapting in many ways, including:

  • The Carver Community Center serves as a primary distribution point for free daily meals provided by Norwalk Public Schools.

  • Our students’ daytime teachers and other Carver staff are sustaining Carver’s after school academic and enrichment programming, instruction and tutoring for our students.

  • We have been providing financial and practical assistance to distressed Carver families. Carver is also participating in NeighborShare, a new giving platform created and maintained by highly skilled volunteers who are deeply moved by the surge of economic need within our community.

  • While Carver was forced to cancel its annual Spring Break College Tour for the first time in 50 years, a volunteer created an online database linking our students to the nation's colleges and universities that offer 360-video tours of their campuses. Hearst Communications featured this Every Day Hero story.

  • We are sharing news and encouraging stories on our website every day.

Courage is a contagious thing; it cannot be quarantined. The more we show it the more we uplift others, especially our youth and their families.
